The client’s brief was clear - they want an interior that promotes meditation and mindfulness. As a designer, the first thing that comes to mind is the concept of a cave. Caves have long been associated with meditation and introspection, a place where one can retreat from the world and find inner peace.

With this in mind, we set out to create an interior that would embody the spirit of the cave. Our idea was to create a journey from the dark and cave-like foyer to the bright and open living area represents a journey from darkness to light, a movement towards a greater sense of clarity and inner calm.

As you stand in the dimly lit wooden foyer, you can feel the peacefulness of the space wash over you. The walls are made of natural wood and the floor in black stone, creating a cave-like atmosphere which is calm and peaceful, a manifestation of the caves often associated with meditation.

As you move through the foyer and into the living area, the space opens up, becoming brighter and more open. The minimalist design would allow for a sense of calmness and relaxation, with earthy and natural materials used throughout the apartment.

Details like door jams and window frames are eliminated, removing clutter and creating a more cohesive and serene atmosphere. Even the air conditioning slots were custom designed to blend seamlessly into the minimalist aesthetic.

The careful craft of detailing would define this interior space, creating a sense of peace and tranquility that promotes meditation and mindfulness.

Our goal was to create a space that would feel like a sanctuary from the outside world, a place where the user could retreat and find inner peace. The cave-like foyer would be the first step in that journey, a reminder of the power of thoughtful interior design to promote a greater sense of peace and well-being.
